PROJECT TIGER EXPEDITION – 2022

Imbue yourself to take this adventurous journey of 16 days to celebrate the epic milestone of the 50th anniversary of Project Tiger, one of the World’s most successful conservation programs in India. The objectives of Project Tiger were clear- saving Royal Bengal Tigers from getting extinct. The journey of increasing the tiger population has not been easy. From turning hunting grounds to tiger reserves, India has shown its magic of conserving wildlife in general. They have also updated the acts regarding forest and wildlife. A proper habitat has been created for the Tigers to hunt, live and survive. The project is still going on and will continue until the Tigers don’t come out of the endangered species category. We have specially designed this program starting from India’s capital, Delhi which is the second-wealthiest city of India after Mumbai. Delhi is of great historical significance as an important commercial, transport, and cultural hub as well as the political centre of India. The next destination is Jaipur - the pink city of India, given the colour coat of pink, a century ago in the honour of a visiting Prince of Wales, Albert Edward, the eldest son of Queen Victoria, ever since it has retained the pink colour. You would be visiting Agra to witness the most romantic building in the World, THE TAJ MAHAL. Your journey takes you to visit three iconic National Parks set up under the Project Tiger namely Ranthambore National Park, Kanha National Park, and Kaziranga National Park to show you the dynamic predator in the wild symbolises the magnificence, power, beauty, bravery, and valor. Tiger also has a significant place in Hindu Mythology is the vehicle of Goddess Durga which is widely worshipped throughout India. An unforgettable wildlife experience awaits you to explore!

01ST DEC, 2022: Delhi

After breakfast, morning half day city tour of Old Delhi visiting Raj Ghat - The Mausoleum of Mahatma Gandhi. Jama Masjid - the biggest Mosque in India and drive past Red Fort and tricycle tour of Chandini Chowk.
Afternoon, half day city tour of New Delhi visiting drive past President House, Parliament House (House of Representatives) and India Gate - War Memorial (stop for photography), Qutab Minar - 72.55 meters, high Victory Tower, Humayun's Tomb - built of red sandstone and is a first substantial example of the Mughal architecture. If time permits visit Bahai Temple (lotus temple).
Overnight stay at the hotel.

02ND DEC, 2022: Delhi – Jaipur (258 Kms – 4½ Hrs)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and leave for Jaipur by surface - the pink city of India. The capital of Rajasthan was given a colour coat of pink, a century ago in the honour of a visiting Prince, ever since it has retained the pink colour. Enroute visit Amber Fort – remarkable for the majestic grandeur of its surroundings as for its sturdy battlements and beautiful palaces. Climb up to the fort on the back of an Elephant or by jeep.
Upon arrival at Jaipur, check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

03RD DEC, 2022: Jaipur

After breakfast, local city tour visiting City Palace - where the former Maharaja still resides in a part of it but rest now serves as a museum. Also visit Jantar Mantar, an observatory built by a great astronomer Sawai Jai Singh onto drive past through Hawa Mahal (Palace of winds).
Late afternoon, explore the colourful bazaars of Jaipur where one can shop for Jewellery, Paintings, block prints, textiles, carpets, brassware, blue pottery etc. Overnight stay at the hotel.

04TH DEC, 2022: Jaipur – Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambhore National Park) (180 Kms – 3 Hrs)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and leave for Sawai Madhopur by surface. Arrive at Sawai Madhopur and check-in at the hotel. Welcome to Sawai Madhopur and the beautiful 10th century fort of Ranthambore. Surrounded by the Ranthambore National Park – A Project Tiger reserve, the imposing ramparts of the fort soar above they too have tales to tell. Overnight stay at the hotel.

05TH DEC, 2022: Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambhore National Park)

Early morning, visit the national park. Afternoon, visit the national park again. Overnight stay at hotel.

06TH DEC, 2022: Sawai Madhopur – Agra (300 Kms – 06 Hrs)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and leave for Agra by surface.
Enroute visit Fatehpur - Sikri (40 kms. from Agra) – once the capital of Mughal Empire and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. Its fortifications and Palaces are in a wonderful state of preservation. Upon arrival at Agra, check-in at the hotel. Time to relax. Overnight stay at the hotel.

07TH DEC, 2022: Agra – Delhi (225 Kms – 3½ Hrs)

After breakfast, sightseeing of Agra –
Visit the World-famous Taj Mahal, built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan in the year 1652 as a memorial for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It took 22 years to create this jewel. Visit Agra Fort - four successive rulers helped create this massive fort. Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daullah – built by Empress Noorjehan in memory of her father.
After early lunch, check out from the hotel and leave for Delhi by surface. Arrive at Delhi and check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

08TH DEC, 2022: Delhi – Jabalpur (By Air) – Kanha National Park (190 Kms – 4½ Hrs drive)

After early breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport for flight to Jabalpur. Arrive at Jabalpur Airport and transfer to Kanha National Park by surface. Arrive and check in at the lodge. Time to relax. Overnight stay at the lodge.

09TH DEC, 2022: Kanha National Park

Take an early morning game viewing in Kanha, one of India’s most famous national parks. Among the Sal and Bamboo forests and grassy meadows, search for the elusive Bengal tiger. Afternoon, enjoy the safari. Overnight stay at the lodge.

After breakfast, check out from the lodge and leave for Raipur Airport by surface. Arrive at Raipur Airport and board the flight to Kolkata.
Arrive at Kolkata Airport and transfer to the hotel. Check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

12TH DEC, 2022: Kolkata – Jorhat (By Air) – Kaziranga National Park (140 Kms – 3½ Hrs drive)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport for flight to Jorhat. Arrive at Jorhat Airport and transfer to Kaziranga National Park. Upon arrival, check in at the resort / lodge. Overnight stay at the resort / lodge.
Kaziranga National Park is a World Heritage Site, where more than 75% of the world’s total population of the great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros can be found. It lies on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River and is one of the oldest parks of Assam. A park drive inside Kaziranga National Park is very different from other parks in India. Large parts of the park are made up of tall grasslands with patches of swampy water bodies covered with beautiful water lilies. Swamp deer or barasingha are often seen wading through the water bodies chomping on weeds, and during the rut hanging weeds on their large antlers to impress the females.

13TH DEC, 2022: Kaziranga National Park

Early morning, explore Kaziranga National Park on back of elephant. Apart from world's endangered One Horn Indian Rhinoceros, the Park sustains half the world's population of genetically pure Wild Water Buffaloes, over 1000 Wild elephants and perhaps the densest population of Royal Bengal Tiger anywhere. Kaziranga National Park is also a bird watcher's paradise and home to some 500 species of Birds. The Crested Serpent Eagle, Palla's Fishing Eagle, Greyheaded Fishing Eagle, Swamp Partridge, Bar-headed goose, whistling Teal, Bengal Florican, Storks, Herons and Pelicans are some of the species found here. Back to the lodge / hotel for breakfast. Afternoon, proceed for a jeep safari. Evening, come back to the lodge / hotel. Overnight stay at Kaziranga National Park.
